When it comes to carnival food, Bengston’s Pumpkin Fest has you covered. We have a variety of delicious autumn treats on hand, but one of the most popular treats at our pumpkin patch are the Apple Cider Doughnuts. Two great tastes in one tasty food: doughnuts and apple cider. Who could resist? While we can’t reveal the secret recipe for this carnival food favorite, you can experience some of the joy by making apple cider at home.
How to Make Apple Cider
Our favorite method for making great apple cider is by using your trusty crock pot. Simply add 8-10 apples, a sliced orange, and your spices (a few dashes of nutmeg, cloves, and a few cinnamon sticks is perfect!). Cover the apples with water and then turn your crock pot on low. We leave it sit for about 8 hours, so it’s a great recipe to prepare in the evening and let cook overnight. Your house will smell amazing in the morning! Then simply strain out apples and oranges and you’ll have an incredible apple cider that’s perfect for all of your fall and winter gatherings.
Come Get Apple Cider Doughnuts Before They Are Gone
While that apple cider will be good, we know you still want some of our doughnuts! You’ll want to hurry. Bengston’s Pumpkin Farm is only open for another month, and after October 30th you’ll have to wait until next year to get your hands on them again. Plan a visit to our pumpkin farm to enjoy all of our carnival food and attractions. We’ll make sure the apple cider doughnuts are fresh and waiting for you!
