Although it might not feel like it at the moment, fall is already just around the corner. Yes, summer just started, but before we know it, everyone’s favorite season will be here. Enjoy the burgers and brats while you can, because before long, you’ll be making a bit of a transition!
Now we are certainly not saying that there’s not plenty to love about bike rides, baseball games, and road trips, but there’s just something special about autumn and the change it brings to Chicago and the surrounding area. What better way to celebrate the changing of the leaves than to visit a pumpkin patch?
At Bengtson’s Pumpkin Fest, we want to ensure that your family’s annual fall tradition of visiting our pumpkin farm is better than ever in 2018! That’s why in today’s post, we thought it would be appropriate to count down a few of our personal favorite things about this season. If you too are looking forward to fall, this post is for you. What Makes Fall the Best Season of the Year?
When it gets hot outside, people gravitate to shorts and t shirts, but when it finally gets chilly enough to put on a pair of jeans, it’s a good feeling. Just like the first time you’re able to put on a pair of shorts when summer rolls around, being able to slip into a comfortable pair of jeans sort of feels like coming home. It also means that you can ditch the flip flops in favor of some seasonally appropriate boots.
Fall is commonly known as the season for layering, and it’s something that many people greatly enjoy. After all, it might be downright freezing in the morning, so you throw on a jacket over your jeans and sweatshirt; by the middle of the day, you’re comfortable in just a t shirt.
Either way, when fall rolls around, it’s time to start digging through your closet to pull out that pair of blue jeans that has been neglected.
There’s nothing in the world quite like a soft flannel shirt. It takes warm, cozy, and comfortable to the next level and whether you’re heading out for a night on the town (or a day at our pumpkin patch) or you’re planning to enjoy a relaxing day at home, a flannel shirt is a go-to for many people.
For some, purchasing new flannel shirts in the fall is a bit of a tradition. For others, the ritual of breaking out a much-loved flannel shirt is an incomparable experience. Whichever route you choose to take, wouldn’t you agree that being able to wrap yourself in a soft, fuzzy flannel shirt is one of the best things about autumn?
Fresh Apple Cider Donuts
If your family tradition is to visit our pumpkin patch in the fall, chances are that a part of that tradition includes devouring our fresh apple cider donuts. Made daily, this is one food item that is considered a must-have for people that visit Bengtson’s Pumpkin Fest, and we know from experience how hard it is to limit yourself to just one!
Available at the Donut Shack and the Big Red Food Barn, our apple cider donuts are without a doubt the best part of the season in our minds. If you have a hard time limiting yourself to just eating them while you’re visiting, never fear, because we have packages of a half dozen donuts ready for you to take home. It doesn’t get much better than that!
