Our Fall Fest Has More Than Pumpkins

Our Fall Fest Has More Than Pumpkins

With a number of amazing pumpkin farm attractions, Bengtson’s Pumpkin Fest has been an annual fall tradition for a number of families over the years and we truly believe that 2019 is our best year yet! We’re already in the full swing of things, but that doesn’t mean that there’s not still plenty of time for you and your family to visit us. The last day that we’ll be open this year is November 3rd, so there is plenty of time to visit us!

Whether you’ve been coming every year or you’re new to the area and you’ve been searching for a pumpkin patch near Chicago, we think you’ll go bananas (or perhaps pumpkins would be more appropriate) for everything that we have in store this year. As a pumpkin patch, we are known for our pumpkins (and we do have pumpkins aplenty), but that doesn’t mean that there’s not more to enjoy. You’re in for a real treat at our fall fest this year. So, if you’re ready to get into the autumn spirit, Bengtson’s can help. Keep reading to see what you can expect from your visit this year.

The Kids Will Love It

Admittedly, we tailor a large part of our farm towards fun for kids, but that doesn’t mean that there’s not something for everyone. After all, for many adults, half the fun of visiting is seeing the smiles on the little ones’ faces (and the other half is the food, but more on that just a bit later).

So what will be putting smiles on the faces of the kiddos this year? Here’s a look at just a few of the pumpkin patch attractions that the kids are sure to appreciate.

Petting Zoo

First and foremost, the kids will most definitely love the barnyard animals at our farm. Best of all,  you even can feed them by hand! Is there anything cuter than baby farm animals? The answer to that question is that there’s only one thing—kids who are having the time of their lives petting the baby farm animals.

We have chickens, turkeys, goats, and more at our petting zoo, as well as our famous pig races. The pig races start every hour at the top of the hour and there are three different races in each round. You’re sure to have a blast trying to pick out the winners with your kids and watching as the piggies do their best to come in first.

We’re also happy to offer pony rides for $5 each and these are available right next to the petting zoo. There’s nothing quite like the experience your kids will have of bonding with a pony (and the pictures you can take will ensure that it’s a memory you’ll cherish for a lifetime).

Pumpkin Chucker

The look of awe and wonder on the faces of kids and adults alike when they see our pumpkin launcher chuck a pumpkin over a quarter of a mile really never gets old. If you’re new to Bengtson’s Pumpkin Fest, it can be hard to know just where to start. There’s so much to see and do, so could we humbly recommend that you start with the Pumpkin Chucker? It’s really something to behold and it’s always a guest favorite.

The Rides

With ten unlimited rides every day, every kid is sure to find a favorite. Whether it’s the Barnyard Cow Coaster, the Twirling Honey Pots, the Flying Frogs Ride, or one of the others, your kids will most definitely have a blast.

Be sure to check out more of the rides and other attractions at this year’s fall fest and start planning now.

There’s Plenty For Adults Too

What makes our fresh apple cider donuts so good?

That’s a rather difficult question to answer, but one taste will show you that you’ve just found your new fall favorite. There are plenty of eats and treats around the pumpkin farm, including award-winning barbecue, tacos, sweet corn, cotton candy, and more. However, the much-beloved fresh apple cider donuts always top the list of people’s favorite foods.

Our donuts are a treasured family recipe. We make our donuts fresh every day and t hey really are something special. No matter what you eat while you’re visiting, be sure to grab some of these donuts. You can thank us later!

Plan a Trip Today

You can see that there’s a lot to love about our pumpkin farm and we’re happy to feature much more than just pumpkins! We have those too, of course, and it really is true that every member of your family might just have a different favorite.

Be sure to check out hours and rates, take a peek at our event calendar, and get driving directions. We’re a common destination for those seeking a pumpkin patch near Chicago (we’re in Homer Glen, to be exact) and whether you’ve visited countless times in the last four decades or this is your first trip to see us we think you’ll leave smiling and satisfied.

The last day we’re open this year is October 30, so time is of the essence to plan your trip! No matter what you do during your visit, you’re sure to have the time of your life. We really look forward to seeing you this year!
